Max

Hello, Everyone! guess what? today, we got a puppy!
his name is Max, (Maxmillian Morinozuka Coulter) and we're only fostering for now,
but it's a near definite thing that we're going to adopt him.
He's about seven weeks old, and appears to be a Black Lab/Pitbull mix.
He is so cute! we have a piece of driftwood that he keeps chewing on,
and he's actually chasing his tail! i've never actually seen a dog do that!
he is SO ADORABLE!

Sims

Hello, faithful readers! thank you for waiting the long amount of time in between each post.
today i'm going to rant about Sims 3 again.

so i found this really cool website about sims 3, http://carls-sims-3-guide.com/
and i've been reading it nonstop, filling up on ideas and tips about how to play the game.
anyway, i have a new sim now. i'm going to try (for real this time!) to get some pictures up,
so i'm going to wait until that happens to tell you about her. but trust me, this one is a real doozy, so if you want to read about her, find a comfy chair and a nice snack first.

sooo... Cadmium is gone. as in i deleted her.
she was awesome, but the first time i tried to go on vacation with her, she came back with a double. one had the inventory and the relationships, and the other had the skills. so she had to go. there was another sim in between her and my current one, but she had the same problem.
i didn't spend much time with her, so it's not really worth mentioning. well, aloha!

Window-Box Petunias!

Hi there! the reason i'm writing this is that i got a window box!
let me explain. i recently read in a magazine that waking up to flowers
every morning is supposed to be good for you. so i decided to save
up for a bouquet for my nightstand. when i told mom about it,
she said that since bouquets keep dying, why don't i get a window box instead?
so the next day dad and i went to home depot and bought a window box,
potting soil, and some petunias. they look wonderful, and we even got some petunia seeds
for next year! but we only just put them in, so we don't know if they'll do okay or not.
wish them luck!

oh, and about sock dolls.
i recently gave yubaba to owen, and guess what he did? he sewed her pants!
i made a headband, and he gave her a short ponytail, so now she's the "exercise doll",
who helps all the other dolls get into shape. thanks to her, Octavia can do a backflip! :-P

on a last note, today i woke up with a sore throat. well, not sore... more like painfully scratchy,
and just on the back of my throat. anyway, apparently hot tea really is a miracle cure for such things. well, enough rambling. bye!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOORED

hi, everyone. i'm bored today.
do you know what i feel like doing, though?
i feel like eating coffee ice cream and reading one peice.
i've ordered the next two one peice's from the library
for me, and the next few that owen's reading, but they haven't come yet.
so with no new material, my "head movies" have pretty much reached a point
where all there is is re-runs. i did come up with a new one, though.
in the realm of a tv show i watch, i'm Bridget the Fey! heh.
anyway, i've been making sock monsters lately.
so far there's Octavia, Zeniba, and Yubaba. i would have made more, but
i ran out of socks. So far Octavia is my favorite. her name used to be Mabel,
but she looks more like an Octavia than a Mabel.
the hardest part to get right was her hair. last night i was reading in bed
waiting for my bedtime, (it was around 11:25 and mom was already asleep)
when i looked at Octavia's hair, (which at that point looked really weird)
and thought to myself, "how can i make this better?"
so i snuck downstairs and brought up the sewing stuff, and got to work.
for a while i was scared that i would make her hair worse while trying
to make it better, but i'm glad i tried. it came out so cute!
i'll try to get pictures, but right now the camera's busted.

on another note, i think i'll try getting my brother to read
Akiko. this is Bridget, signing off!

BRACES!

Hi! guess what, everyone? it's officially been excited that i need braces!
:-) i've been waiting patiently for this all my life. oh, and also,
apparently three quarters of my mouth is decent, and the rest is moderately messed up.
so... yay! anyway, the whole process is gonna take about 2 years.
so by the time they're off, i'll be... 14! i'll have spent a full year as a teenager!
interesting, eh? anyway, while we were waiting, me and mom were discussing
that from her side of the family, i get bad eyesight, bad teeth, bad memory, and bad balance.
huh. thats interesting too. well... bye!

Movies in my head.

Hi! i just had another realzation about daydreams.
for me, they're like movies in my head. i come up with a situation
and i play it through. i'll play a scene over and over getting it just perfect,
thinking to myself, "no, that makes no sense." or, "wait! that's out of character!"
in my daydreams i'm often playing a different person, almost always with a different
personality, sometimes with a different name. in one of my universes i am Bridget,
a student at a highschool in a manga series i read. there i act pretty much like i do here.
In another i am Bridget, a pirate on blackbeard's crew. i can fight with my fists and my sword,
and i am very good at being scary. in yet another i am Bridget the ninja.
i keep a blank expression on my face and i don't waste words. these aren't people i wish i could be. in fact a few of them would probably be torture to be in real life.
why do i pretend to be them, then? for fun. like i said, movies in my head, right?
they are often very entertaining. sometimes i go with mom on long car rides just so i can have the chance to rewatch another movie, or direct a new one. i can't even count how many there are. i wonder if daydreams are the same to everybody.

Genre

"Genre". Pronunciation: JON-ruh.
Definition:
a class or category of artistic endeavor having a particular
form, content, or technique.

Example: the music genre of "Rock & Roll".

The Twin Lights!

Hi! since I'm uploading a ton of pictures today anyway,
I'm going to share with you lucky folks the pictures of my trip
to the twin lighthouses. enjoy!

here is one of the lighthouses.

Here are Lynn and Owen next to a big anchor out back
of the lighthouses.

and here they are next to a big cannon.

aaaaand...... that's it. i never thought I'd become a tourist to my own state.
Strange, huh?

Cadmium White!

Hi! me again! here are the pictures i was talking about.
This lovely young lady here is Cadmium white.

And this is a closeup of her face.

Cadmium started out goth. But then i gave her a bunch of tattoos
and this really fiery personality, and then i bought her a motorcycle.
also, on her back is a tattoo of the grim reaper playing his scythe like a guitar!
heh. unlike most of my other sims,
Cadmium is not rich. She lives in the smallest house i could find.
i like it there, though. she once married a rich guy, and the house was just too big to be comfortable in. so anyway, now they're divorced. not because of the house, because of him.
he was a real baby when you looked close. i'll get pictures of her house later,
i just haven't taken any yet.

This is her on her motorcycle, Loki. if you check out the relationships
tab on her status bar, her and Loki are best friends. it's kind of weird when you think about it.
She has a lot of cool stuff like this. For instance, she had a fridge that is so high quality
you can't buy it. they give it to you when you reach the top of the cooking career.
it has a fancy symbol on it, and when you eat from it, you get a moodlet titled "superior equipment".

She had a job as a "world renowned surgeon" for awhile.
this is her in her doctors outfit (lab coat??) studying medical stuff.

The photo above is cadmium playing her guitar, which she has mastered so far.
she once made 1,000 simoleons (the simlish word for money) in one day of street playing!
she actually has a different guitar now, but this is the best guitar pic i could find.

now for some photos of inanimate objects and landscapes!

This here is hands down my favorite thing about her house. most of her house
is all nice and color coordinated, (that means avocado greens, pale yellows
and cherry-pit browns for her.) so do you know what i did? i put a bright purple painting
right smack-dab in the middle of the room so I'd have something that popped out.
do you know why i placed a laundry basket just under it?
if you look to the end of our upstairs hallway you'll find essentially the same thing.
by the way, the door on the left leads to her bathroom, and the door on the right to her bedroom.

And here is a picture of some geese flying over a river.
well, i guess that's it. I'll meet you later (hopefully soon) with some pictures of her house!

Harps and Sims 3

Hi! i just thought it would be fun to post a list of my top ten favorite instruments,
in descending order. (that means first to last, in case there's any confusion.)

Harp
Pan Flute (or Pan Pipes)
Violin
The Human Voice (yes, it does technically count as an instrument.)
Pedal Steel Guitar
Cello
Banjo
Acoustic Guitar
Didgeridoo
Flute

Notice i do not include anything electronic, as i am of the firm believe
that electronic things should not count as instruments. Except electric guitars.
you don't play them electronically, the electronic part just helps with the sound.
so..... yeah. anyway i put up some polls so you can vote on your favorite music genre.
What fun!

On another note, i have another new sim! Her name is Cadmium white.
Pictures and a detailed biography soon! byyye!

French Bread 2 (The Remix!)

Today i'm making french bread... without the food processor!
it was so much more fun to knead it myself, and i bet it'll come out better
since i'm letting it rise longer this time. i can't wait to try it with the new jam.
it's less than one hour 'til it's done rising. wish me luck!

UPDATE:
the bread turned out beautifully!
there are some pictures that i'll try to share with you.
it didn't brown, but that's because there was too much flour.
everyone loved it, and we had four friends over today!
so... i feel like i want to make bread and then give it to someone else.
does anyone who i know who reads my blog want bread?

French Bread and Chain E-Mails.

Hi! today i made french bread. :-)
it was really fun, and the results were amazingly good.
so, anyway, chain e-mails. annoying. are they?
i just got one of those e-mails that says if you do this and forward
it to X many people, your wish will come true.
well i made my wish, and at the end it says if you don't forward it to
ten people, your wish will become the opposite. well i don't have ten people
in my address book! arghh! and this wish would be TORTURE if it came out the opposite.
sigh. it's a good thing I'm not superstitious.
anyway, we might be getting a dog in the fall! my mom says we're still deciding,
but by the way she talks about it i can tell we're going to get a dog. :-P
mom really wants a small dog. like one of those little, white, fluffy terriers.
i, however, pointed out that small dogs tend to be hyper,
and would really prefer a large dog. at first mom wanted a puppy,
but i pointed out that we would have to housetrain it and teach it all those other annoying things, like how not to jump on people. so... yeah. bye!

Sick.

Ugh. I'm sick and the craft fair is tomorrow.
this morning after i ate my breakfast i puked on the carpet.
right next to my brother, no less! my mom says i can go to the craft fair if i don't puke again, though. well, anyway, my brother is making food stuffs
for the craft fair, and he won't let me anywhere near his chocolate covered pretzels. i can't even lick them! :-P he also insists on wearing a... a.. hm.
a breathing mask.. thing. and running out of any room I'm in.
he's really intent on not getting sick. anyway, i guess i should explain something.
the craft fair is something my friend put together. it's REALLY fun! twice a year, (once in spring and once in fall) a bunch of people come together, (and not just a little gathering of friends, either. a lot of people come!)
and sell things they made themselves. some people sell lucky charms, some people sell baked goods, some people sell art, and so on. for the past... well, ever, I've been selling, well, let's call it "performance arts". nobody ever bought my wares. this year, though, i was planning on selling legitimate crafts. i had made teru teru bozu, as i said, and was going to make lemonade and chocolate chip cookies.
but now it turns out that, if i go at all, i'm only selling teru teru bozu.
oh well. lets hope a lot of people there hate rain, eh?
on another short note, i found a really cool band online called "Celtic Woman".
they sing irish folk songs, and a lot of their live concerts are in front of real
irish castles! i had my dad download some of their music onto my Mp3.
on a final note, you'll notice i changed the background agian. tell me what you think!

More Sims 3!

hi! here are some pictures i forgot. A close-up of Susie playing chess in the garden. See that focused expression? hmmm..... and here's a view of her first house's garden from the ground. i particularly like this one because it's so colorful. Update: so, in case you haven't noticed, the new polls are up! anyway, i'm really sorry, but you can't vote on these two pictures. i put up the polls before this post, and by the time i tried to edit it, someone had already voted. but wait! if you want, you can share your opinion in the comments! so... go ahead! Update again: okay... so apparently that one sim's name is Sandi, not Molly. oopsie! Yet another Update: okay. formatting is going crazy right now, so i can't make the post look the way i want. hopefully my educated readers will be able to tell the differences between the two pictures if i can't fix it.

Sims 3!

Hi! Right now I'm going to share some of my favorite
pictures from Sims 3.

This is... errmm... well, we'll call her whats-her-name.
she was adopted by one of my earlier sims whom i have no pictures of,
and made her living by writing books and playing guitar for tips.
for a street player, she was pretty well off.
but i hit a rut with her wherein she just spent all her time doing one
or the other.

These sims right here are some of my later ones.
the one on the right is Molly, (i think!)
and the one on the left is Bugsy.
they're married. i had a lot of fun with them, too,
but one day they just got boring. i guess i might have had too many sims
seeing as they eventually had two sets of twins!

this sim here is Bridget in her later days.
she was made to represent me,
and i had a lot of fun with her, until i made the mistake
of playing her daughter instead of her. i hit a rut.

and this is my current sim, Susie Ridgewood!
she is actually a duplicate of a sim i had in Sims 2.
she has a very interesting life story.
she was adopted and raised as a child,
by a vampire sim of mine. she was raised around cats and soon adopted
one of her own, a beautiful black boy called Jessie James.
did i mention she was obsessed with cowboys?
anyway, she grew to be a young adult,
and eventually went to sim state university,
where she earned a degree in sim psychology, despite having to give up
her beloved cat, as pets weren't allowed at college. what happened to her?
i got sims 3. but this is basically her in another life.
this is her playing guitar in her old house.

she had this beautiful garden where she used to live.
for a while, her entire life was focused around breeding the perfect watermelons.

here it is from far away. isn't it pretty?
i even managed to use harvestables to add to the asthetic appeal!
heh. i've been reading "fine gardening magazine" lately.

this is her in her new house, roasting salmon.
i moved because while her first house was beautiful,
not to mention handmade by yours truly,
the garden was too time consuming. i had to start every day at five
in the morning, and even then it went on 'til nighttime!
first she moved into this really cool house that was actually
built on top of a swimming pool, but it wasn't very fun there because
with the house looking so modern-minimalist, i couldn't decorate the yard
the way i wanted to. so now she lives in this cute little country cottage,
and is pretty darn rich, working as a gardener. she's self-employed!

i managed to decorate the garden pretty well there.
this is her playing chess next to some of the flower bushes.

and, finally, here are some landscape photos:
the lighthouse at night.

the lighthouse in early morning.

and who could forget stoney falls, the favorite fishing spot
of both me and my mom!

oh, and i almost forgot, this is my mom's sim,
Claudia Champone.

well, thats it! i plan to keep you posted on my sim's progress!

UPDATE: my sim just adopted a daughter! lets hope they hit it off!

Sims 3, Exercise Balls, and Tagliatelle With Peas!

hi! this is Bridget speaking. first of all, i'd like to talk about sims 3. well, not about the game itself, but about one of it's features: gardens. through this game i have discovered that i am rather adept at landscaping. my sim's garden is BEAUTIFUL! i've even started using harvestable plants to add to my garden's asthetic appeal. i still need to work on the right side of my yard, though. so far the only designing i've done is on my front yard, and my left side yard. but i'm very pleased with the work i've done. now, on to exercise balls. this is going to be a very short topic. i would just like to share that i am writing this while sitting on one. why? well, my back was hurting earlier, and this seems to have made it stop. it's also very fun! i can't stop bouncing up and down! heh heh. lastly, the other day i made dinner! it was a recipe i found in a magazine, "tagliatelle with peas". we used linguine though, as we couldn't find tagliatelle. i got to saute' onions and peas! it felt like real cooking. you see, my plan for a career is to run a cafe' and write books in my spare time, so i figure if i want to have a career in the food business, i'd better learn how to cook, right? anyway, everyone loved it, including me. (luckily!) aaaaand... thats all.

Boonton.

Today i went to see the Boonton waterfall! and do you know what? IT WAS THE BEST DAY EVER! even if you combine all my birthdays and christmas's EVER, it doesn't even come CLOSE to what i did today! first i saw the manmade waterfall. then i saw this HUGE natural one. but the highlight was Twin-Tree falls, which i named myself. it's roughly northwest of indian rock, just follow the stream. it's this little waterfall that goes way up, and has two tree's at the top with it's roots tangling about in the water. it collects down at the bottom of the hill to form a pool. i thought about calling it chimney falls, because it falls over something that looks like a circular chimney, but Twin-Tree falls sounds prettier. anyway, i climbed up to the top, and it was spectacular from there! i saw some baby plants growing where the dirt collects in the crooks of trees, and some moss that was getting ready to release spores. but seriously though, it looked spectacular! just a few feet from Twin-Tree Falls are two logs, which strech over what i can only imagine used to be a river. i walked across one of them real fast. next to the two logs are the ruins of the, um... something something chimneys. i climbed all over those too. afterwards, i headed back to indian rock, and climbed up it. my cousin came with me, and he climbs really well for a five year old! the only problem is, he seems to have no fear, and he keeps walking dangerously close to cliffs. eep! well, anyway, the wind was blowing real hard up there. i got to experience how much harder wind is up high firsthand! afterwards it was time to start heading back to the playground. we took this really remote little path. at one point i noticed that someone had worn a path down to the river. upon further inspection, i saw that it led down to this huge rock right in the middle of the river! what could i do but climb down on it? it was really cool from there. well we kept walking, and found another little ledge that everyone explored. there i found a pudding stone and two freshwater shells! well, eventually we ended up back at the playground, and i taught my grandma how to play mancala. we had a good game. afterwards we all shared what we learned that day, and what was our favorite part. and for "homework", we all did representational dances! yay! all in all, it was a really awesome day. the end.

Teru Teru Bozu & Flowers!

Teru Teru Bozu!

of course, nobody reading my blog really knows what that is, do they?

Teru Teru bozu are traditional charms made by children in Japan

to ward off bad weather, made with paper or cottonballs, white cloth and yarn.

the word Teru Teru Bozu literally translates as "shiny shiny bald headed monk".

i don't really know why. anyway, i remembered them when i was rereading

yotsuba the 5th, and i found the chapter where she makes them.

here's a picture of the one page:

this one is in Japanese, so I'll translate: first panel, yotsuba: "hang all of them!"

First panel, koiwai: "that big one will be good enough."

Second panel, yotsuba: "please make it sunny tomorrow.

Second, panel, koiwai: "it's a religion now?"

heh heh. anyway, i'm planning on making little ones and selling them for the craft fair.

well, on to flowers.

we have a huge hole in the backyard from a day when me and owen got bored.

so last winter dad covered in with dirt and mulch, and now we're going to plant a butterfly garden! we have Sunflowers, Snapdragons, Parsley, (for blue swallowtail caterpillars)

Alyssum, A "wildflower mix", and Anise Hyssop. we're also going to get Milkweed.

I can wait to see it when they're all grown!

well... bye!

oh, and here's a picture of a Teru Teru Bozu:

UPDATE: ugh. blogger won't let me format it without spacing. sorry!

Sunflowers!

I'm going to try and grow sunflowers this year!
i picked a variety called the "lemon queen". it has long, big, bright yellow petals,
and a choclate center. very nice sunflower. sunflowers are my favorite flowers, you know.
they're very pretty and yellow.

Breakfast.

Hi! guess who just got a new pillowtopper? meee!
*happy dance* yeah! the problem is, i also got new sheets,
and they have so much friction that it's really, REALLY hard to move.
i ended up sleeping in the same position all night.
thank you very much, ikea! (i was being sarcastic there.)
anyway, today i got up, got dressed, and my mom and Owen were in Owen's room.
(about that, it's almost finished!) they were trying on Owen's summer clothes,
so mom asked me to make my own breakfast. long story short, i ended up
singing a song about breakfast to the tune of "crazy train". *snicker*.
i'm told i'm good at making up songs like that. like the hot chocolate song!
or the bunny song! heh heh. well, bye.

BOOOOOORED.

I'm bored again. This family isn't exciting enough for me.
I'm bored. bored bored bored bored bored. bow-red. boo-ard.
boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooored.
somebody please rescue me from my boredom.

Knitting & Teddy Bears

I've decided to try a new knitting pattern! *gasp*!
As long as i can learn how to purl. Again.
I've learned twice before, and i just can't remember.
if i can purl I'm going to make a ribbed scarf.
Wish me luck! Well, anyway, I've been researching teddy bears lately.
I recently got this really nice one from the thrift store named Sebastian.
(the bear, not the store!) Apparently he's from a pretty nice brand
called the "Vermont Teddy Bear Company". Back to research,
i found the Wikipedia page! It had the usual trivia about Theodore Roosevelt
and the hunting trip and what not, but a lot more interesting stuff too.
Apparently the first Teddy Bears were made to look like real bears,
with an elongated nose and little eyes, sometimes they would be on all fours.
But a while back someone decided to give them more baby-like features,
shorten the nose a bit, and make the standing/sitting position a standard,
and lo and behold, the teddy bear we know today was born!
Then of course, even today there are different kinds of teddy bears.
You have your sloppy, under-stuffed mass-produced kind of teddy bear,
and then there are the ones that are still mass produced but still better.
They aren't sold in dollar stores, they're stuffed just right, and their fur is nice.
Then there are the kinds that really stand out from the others.
Ones handmade by the really big brands like Steiff and Boyd.
Those are usually slightly stiffer because they have more stuffing,
and they have joints instead of just the whole bear being one big thing.
That's the kind i like. In fact, the one i bought from the thrift store is like that!
those are usually expensive, fair enough since they're made so well,
but i got mine second hand so it was only around five or six dollars.
;-) Hooray for Unique Thrift! Heh. Well, i also have this book about bears.
Apparently, there is a Teddy Bear Hotel.
you can drop off your teddy bear, where he will sleep in a comfortable bed,
be read bedtime stories, and be given repairs if needed.
And all for an affordable *cough* not *cough* price!
for a little extra money. you can even have your Bear's portrait painted,
or bring two and have a teddy wedding! Sounds a little extravagant for stuffed animals, right?
But they still have customers, and quite a few i might add.
Well, i have nothing more to say about teddy bears. If i find anything else
interesting about them, I'll post it here! Bye for now!

Penny!

i just found a banana penny! that's what my mom calls the ones
from a long time ago with wheat on the back. when she was little she thought
they were banana pennies, sooo... hence the name! i shined it up and now
it's living happily on mom's desk. :-D

Pennies and music boxes!

Hi! my mom recently gave me this beautiful green lacquer music box
that plays "the way we were". not only have i decided to learn the lyrics to that song, but i have decided to start a collection of music boxes.
on another note, i found two pennies from 1983 and 1959!
they were pretty tarnished, so i looked up how to shine pennies and got some pretty good results. first i rubbed the pennies all over with an eraser,
then i used a toothbrush to scrub them with ketchup. then i rinsed off the penny and the brush, and scrubbed the penny in baking soda, mixed with warm water into a thick paste.
rinse it off, and ta dah! this technique is surprisingly fast and very effective.
you can also subsitute your thumb for an eraser in a pinch.
on yet another note, i just cut off the spiderplant i'm going to give to lucy!
i've decided that it'll probably be ready to give to her on the 20th.
that's also when i'll be cutting off delilah, the one i'm keeping for myself.

Green Tea

I just found out that, yes, you're supposed to water the plants with green
tea as a plant food to perk up unhappy plants. Well then,
i'll try and hope it works!

Sunday, February 27, 2011

Stuff that i'm talking about.

Hi! it looks like a majority of my readers have quite a few houseplants.
by that i mean four out of five, and even the one who didn't had some!
wow. well, theres a new poll, so make sure to vote! anyway, remember my baby spiderplants?
well, mine isn't ready yet, but i'm cutting off the one i'm giving to Lucy
on march first. then i can start Ada's in a pot. on another note,
my aunt has spiderplants in her house, and owen and my cousin were playing roughly
so two babies got knocked off prematurely! *gasp*!
but guess what? i rescued them! (imagine dramatic superhero music is sounding right now.)
so i'm going to be their foster mother and raise them. prematurely cut
spiderplants will be a test of my gardening ability! wish me luck!
Bridget, out!

P.S. i'm going to try watering them with green tea as a plant food.
my gardening magazine says many gardeners swear by it!
it would be expensive to just use green tea for plant food,
but if i just reuse tea bags, it won't make a difference. although they may have said to use the leaves as a fertilizer... hm. i'll have to find out.

P.P.S. I named the Spiderplants Catherine, (for the bigger one)
and Colleen.

Sprouts!

okay. so i planted some more sprout seeds in a newspaper pot, right?
well this time i'm going to time how long it takes for them to sprout!
i'll tell you when they do.

Circ' De Science!

I went to the newark meuseum today!
they were doing something called the Circ' De Science.
first of all, they were giving out red rubber noses. i had to put one on.
second of all, i got a ballon hat. third of all, i got my face painted like a clown!
the guy who did it had his face the same, and he said no one else throughout
the whole day had asked for it because everyone thought he looked like the joker.
anyway, pictures soon!

Polls

Theres a new poll! you now get to vote on if you have houseplants,
and how many. the results of the last poll was that 6 of my readers like manga/anime,
and only 3 don't. it really is pretty popular! well, let's see how the new one turns out.

Gako and Spiderplants!

Good news! I'm actually writing "The Adventures of Gecko"!
I think this one is gonna come out a winner. i've discovered that
my writing comes easier and goes faster if i listen to "afternoons and coffe spoons". Anyway,
i've been following some advice from my grandma about baby spiderplants,
and so far the roots have grown to just the tiniest bit away from 1/4 of an inch
possible! since the day before yesterday no less. We've already bought the pots
and the potting soil, the only problem is we have to wait for the soil to defrost.
Apparently, by the way, our lowes is having some problems.
you know all those roofs and windows they have over the outdoor area?
well some broke open, and now half of the place is covered in snow!
quite a nuisance. well this one guy was real nice and opened the doors so we
could get to the potting soil. on another subject, i have a new plant in my room!
see, my mom has this contraption that lets her grow edible sprouts,
you know, the kind that comes in plastic boxes from the grocery store?
anyway, we took a little handful of the seeds and mixed them around in some
wet soil, and they're already sprouting! not a surprise, as they were selected for fast
sprouting, but they're doing real well. since they're growing in soil and not just water,
and i've given them a spot in the sun, they've been growing pretty fast.
well... bye!

GECKO!

GECKO! YAMORI! GAKO! These are three names for my new character,
Gako Daniels. He's the main character in a book I'm writing.
He leaves his home in a rowboat at fourteen to fight monsters and
find treasure and the like. It's really fun to write, because he's such a character
that when i write about him i can hear his accent in my head! And it's funny! Here's one of my favorite lines:
"I wear a sandal on one foot and a sneaker on the other
cause' of the little devil what lives in my stove. he steals my shoes,
but only one of each pair. a real nuisance, that devil."
Ha! The devil's name is Stewart. He's been living in Gecko's house
ever since before his parent's time, and he's one of my favorite parts of the book.

Unfortunately, you don't see much of him. Only in one part of the book
i haven't written yet. Sad. anyway, I even drew a picture of Gecko,
which you can see to the upper left.
It includes his flag, (If he were a pirate) and a drawing of Stewart. (The devil in the stove)
In my opinion, it's the best picture I've ever drawn, because;
A) I have only ever drawn boys badly, and just their heads.
B) I really like the way i drew his hair.
C) It's my first time drawing a bare foot. Well, he's wearing a sandal, but still.
D) His clothes are a bit more complicated then i usually draw, and i'm proud that it came out so well. cargo shorts and a (Red) vest without anything underneath was a challenge to draw!
E) i managed to blush his cheeks without it coming out all weird.
If you look really hard, you'll see.
F) I drew his mouth in an open smile! i've never drawn them that well before.
See? i didn't even know there were so many reasons until i wrote them down!
Notice i even wrote his name in Japanese. See? To the left of his head?
Isn't it awesome? It is! Yay! Well, bye for now. :-D

Posters

Hi! anyway, there's this poster-making shop on nanowrimo,
and i had a poster made for me. then when i put it on my computer,
i realized how easy it was to make. long story short,
now i've gotten into designing
posters! there are three in my room, and four next to my brother's desk.
There's an example to the side. this one is one of my favorites!
i've also made one about dragons, one about bento boxes,
four about raving rabbids, two for my friends,
and a few to save just in case. well, really because i felt like making them.
if you know me, by the way,
you can feel free to E-mail me or my mom and request one.
just make sure to tell me the general theme and any other specifics. bye!

Universes.

okay. i was reading this blog i follow,
and the girl who does it explained very well something
i have been trying to explain to other people for years.
the concept of my daydreams. turns out, we're pretty alike.
anyway, the way it works is that there are different "Universes"
in my mind that i am able to visit. almost all of them are
the universes of TV shows i watch or books i read. so in daydreams,
i visit the universe and have an adventure with the characters!
did i explain that well enough? hm. i have a feeling not.
my arsenal of universes is very large. i often visit one of these
universes before bed to help me get to sleep. it calms my nerves.

Moominville 2

Mrs. jenkins just bought an MP3 player,
and is getting along quite well with it. Mr. jenkins got one too,
and unlike Mrs. jenkins he's having some problems.
Ms. peabody joined an art class and is having fun.
The changa family found out that the dog broke the lamp, not sandy.
the landlord is lounging in his living room.
Forsythia is making the most of her last day at the cabin by
having a nice little picnic in the sun with her friend.

Moominville

Someone knocked over an expensive lamp in the chang household.
Dad expects that sandy did it.
Mrs. Jenkins is over her little grudge and has apoligized to Ms. Peabody.
They're having coffee in Ms. Peabody's house. Mr. Jenkins has carved
a pretty little totem pole. the landlord is in the supermarket.
he just went to get eggs, but he got into an arguement with customer service about something
that doesn't really matter. Forsythia has noticed that the flowers under the willow tree
are already perking up, and while staying at the cabin she met an old friend,
who she is currently roasting marshmallows with.

Town

Recently i drew a town on several peices of paper.
i call it Moominville. i'm going to make up little stories about what's
going on! today Mrs. Jenkins is fighting with Ms. Peabody because
she thinks that Ms. Peabody is planting in her patch of the community garden.
really some seeds just blew over there! Mr. Jenkins has
gotten back into whittling. the Chang family is having fun celebrating
the chinese new year, and Forsythia is staying in a cabin in the woods.
she just found a little wild flower patch hidden under a weeping willow,
and is cultivating it while she's there. the landlord is in the library right now,
studying marine biology. nobody knows his real name,
and you hardly ever see him in person. he discusses rent and such
over the phone.

POLLS!

well first of all, 66 percent of all my readers like manga/anime.
yes! second of all, i am getting into classical music lately. YES!
third of all, my spiderplant is growing more babies! yay!
i could seriously make a buisness out of this.

Spiderplants & Wii fit

I'm going to give my friend a spiderplant for her birthday.
Mine is growing babies, so one goes to her, one to her sister,
and one i will raise myself. I just gave the mother plant (Courtney)
some plant food. that should make sure it gets to the babies too.
I think i'll name mine Delilah. I've also been soaking the babies
in 30 seconds of water every day. You have to give the roots a reason to come out!
Spiderplants reproduce by growing babies on stalks instead of putting out seeds.
Once the roots grow in, all you do is take it off and put it in a pot of it's own!
I got the original from my grandma. She has quite a few, and they reproduce like crazy,
so she was more than okay with giving me one! *laugh*.
Anyway, i've been getting back into Wii fit lately.
I've made it my goal to spend at least 25 minutes on the wii every day,
especially on balance games. I've noticed that i'm the best at the balance games,
and with my mother's DNA it couldn't hurt to practice. :-P
right now my brother is playing it, and my mom is going on soon.
i'm gonna go watch tv. Ciao!

Lapis Lazuli

okay, so the title of this post is totally random. :-P
have you ever noticed how many epic stories you can make up in a daydream?
fun, isn't it? for as long as i can remember, i've used daydreaming as a technique
for getting to sleep. it works, too. and eventually your mind starts to drift,
and you begin to think about random stuff you can't even remember in the morning.
it's fun.

Stuff

Okay. first of all, my icicle is now visibly shrinking.
i blame global warming. second of all, according to wikipedia,
i may have a form of synesthesia. NOW BEFORE YOU FREAK OUT,
don't worry. it just means i associate words, numbers and letters
with different colors. now i know i'm not the only person who does that. :-)

Icicles

I'm passing the time by chronicling how fast an icicle outside my window grows.
So far, it's been growing impressivly fast and long, and for an impressivly
long time, too. The last icicle i followed wasn't as long as this one,
and it fell off awhile ago. I'm going to go outside tomorrow
and measure the base. That might be the reason it's been growing for so long,
the base might be unusually thick. I'm actually having fun with this!

Book

Hi! it's me again! :3
I just decided to start another book.
lets hope i finish this one! *laugh*
I'm going for an Indiana Jones kind of thing.
A little like Alex Rover. What? you don't know who Alex Rover is?
I thought you might not. Anyway, I'm having trouble coming up with
a name for my main character. He's going to be male, so to balance it out
i want something that sounds slightly feminine.
Anyone have any ideas? Please comment if you do!
If this one goes well, i might write a sequel.
In fact, i might even make it a series! i'll be posting an excerpt.
If for some reason i don't, it probably doesn't mean i'm dead.
It probably just means i got bored with the book. *laugh*
Well, i'm off! no, not to write, to watch a new episode of LMOTP.
what? what?!

Theme Song

Aparrently Ayame has two theme songs,
so heres the second. (it's also the one you hear most.)

UPDATE!

i am typing this while listening to black Hatsuharu's theme song.
it's not like the usual music i listen to.
it's not like; la da de da da, it's more of; GRAAAGH!!! DJEBOLFBELUIBBFLIU!
yeah, like that. heres the link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnqiR7rptrm

and this is Momiji's theme song. (so cute!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1sf6lfcezw

and here's Ayame's theme song, the one i was talking about.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GPHf3Y1BLA

tell me in the comments if you like them, m'kay?

i want to find white Hatsuharu's theme song, but i don't
think its as popular. that one is more like: mmm de dum da de da de da.
like that. anyhoo, i'm putting up some new polls so vote away!

UPDATE: i found white Hatsuharu's theme song!
the black one is at the end, though.
dunno why, but it reminds me of a cow.
enjoy!

Fruits basket

i'm just rambling about my favorite TV show, so feel
free not to listen. :-P
i just re-watched the episode of fruits basket where
you meet Ayame. he's so conceited, theatric, innapropriate and dramatic
that he has his own theme song! it plays practically every time he utters a word.
i just kept laughing all through the episode!
i feel so sorry for all the characters that have to deal with him.

MORE SNOW!

forgot to say something in that last post!
it just snowed AGAIN! we made a fort in the backyard,
and it is SO much more awesome than we anticipated!
aw, man, i wish you could see it! it comes
up to just under my shoulders. (i'm 5'2 1/2)

Noveling

guh. i have had about 20000 ideas for books in my life,
started them all, and finished about seven.
i'm starting another one soon, lets hope it works.
i'm gonna try and make this one a bit more serious than my usual
style. wish me luck! *falls into the noveling void*

PIZZA!!!!!!!

just a funny story.
lately my brother has been exercising every day.
yesterday i was at my friends house, and we brought home
some pizza to share. so my mom went into the basement
where all our exercise equipment is, and told owen to
"stop exercising and eat pizza." ha!
also, i am knitting a scarf with alpaca wool. it's very soft.
also, i am trying to learn some more songs. so far my
arsenal includes:
Island Song, Dreams of Courage, Show me the way to go home,
Darling Clementine, Oh Susanna, and (currently a work in progress) Greensleeves.
(one of my favorites!)

we just went out to shovel the walk,
and it wasn't as hard as i anticipated.
i guess since we had already shoveled the last time it snowed?
anyway, the backyard is still piling high.

Don't kill the mockingbird!

I just took the most wonderful picture of a
Northern Mockingbird that landed on our suet feeder!
Yesterday the birds were scared away when I put out
some seed for one of our feeders, but they're starting to come back.

Birds!

Suet is making today very entertaining.
me and mom have really gotten into birds lately,
ever since we purchased some suet, and watched bird
after fascinating bird flock to our backyard.
so far we've seen at least seven different species,
not counting one we couldn't identify.
can anyone ID a bird about the size of a crow,
all black with the exception of a bright yellow beak?
if so, either leave a comment or E-Mail my mom
if you know her. we have this really great bird book
that even lets you identify by color, but it doesn't include
the bird we want. oh well. bye!
