Hey there, strangers! As you obviously know, I haven't posted anything new here in a long time. The last time I was talking about spring... huh. That kinda came and went, didn't it? Well, here's what I've been up to lately.
Fifteen!
I'm fifteen now! Yes, as of October eighth, 2013, I am officially fifteen!
Haircut!
I cut my hair. It's super short now.
Glasses!
I got new glasses! The old ones kinda broke... a lot. So now I have these new ones that are nothing like my old, huge black frames.
Nose Stud!
Yes, I got my nose pierced for my birthday. It is epicness. I will get pictures as soon as I figure out the ridiculous computer system our homegroup follows...
ComiCon!
The title alone should be enough to get you excited. I went to ComiCon with my girlfriend! I cosplayed as Tony Stark, she was Jotun Loki, and together we were FrostIron! (One of our collective favorite ships) IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! Once again, PICTURES SOON! As soon as I figure out my frakking computer...
My Name is Bridget, and this is my blog. You're not going to find anything too specific about hobbies or anything here. I just write whatever pops into my head. I treat this like a public journal, you know? So go ahead, read about my life, leave a comment, whatever.

A Post!
And, here it is; the inevitable post after the long dry spell. So... who wants a recap?
Toothpaste
Remember I told you I was going to stop using toothpaste? Well, I did , and I have been for about a month now, and none of my teeth have fallen out! Yay! Seriously though, my teeth are fine. There is literally no change. One less chemical entering my body.
Doctor Who
I started watching Doctor Who again. Something you need to know, though, is that the Doctor and I have kind of an interesting history.
See, a long time ago, (maybe about three or four years) I noticed my dad watching Doctor Who. So I decided hey, that show looks cool, I'll try it out. It terrified me.
A few years later I tried watching again. I pushed past the terror each episode inevitably brought, because besides that it was an awesome show. Until I tried to watch "Blink", the first weeping angels episode. That scared me off for one or two more years.
Last month, (or maybe early in this month) I decided to try watching again, for the sake of my friend KC, (Not K; KC.) who watches the show. I don't know why, but it just didn't seem that scary anymore. I loved it, and watched all six seasons (There's a seventh, but it's not on netflix) Including all three weeping angels episodes, the episodes with shadows that eat you, (Vashta Nerada) And the gas-masked kids episodes. These, in my opinion, are the scariest sagas in the whole show. So that's one score for... I don't know who one, but I think it's awesome. But now I have to wait for the seventh season...
Sophie
Did I say that Sophie is sleeping in my bed now? Well she is. And whereas she started out waking me up around six in the morning, she has now drifted to the decent hour of seven or seven thirty in the morning. Just thought I'd share that.
Fish
We have fish, in case you didn't know. Bereznoff and Calcifer, who live in my room, and Alex and Dave, who used to live in Owen's room but now live downstairs. See, it used to be that A and D lived in a big aquarium in Owen's room, and B and C lived in a little one in my room. But mom found a giant, 30-35 gallon aquarium in the basement, so we put that downstairs and moved A and D there, and we put their old (medium) aquarium in my room and now B and C are living in there. So. There you go.
Spinning
I had a lesson in spinning thread! See, my cousin Nate's other grandma, Nelda, knows how to spin thread, so she taught me how! I'm going to go back for another lesson sometime. I'm wearing my first thread on my wrist.
Sooo.... there you go. My life in a nutshell.

RECAP!!!!
Once again, I have neglected my blog for months only to start up again in a completly different season than when I left it. Sorry about that. So, it's time for another recap! Lets start, shall we?
Sandy:
WE LOST POWER DURING SANDY! Yeah, for like, four whole days. It might have had something to do with the fact that me and Owen had been wishing for the power to go out the whole day of the hurricane. Probably not, but, you know. Whatever. At some point, I actually got out paper and pencil and started writing a story about the first day of the hurricane. By candlelight. Most of it, anyway. I'll probably type it up at some point and share it with you, but not now. Right now, my hand is actually a little stiff because it's cold in here. Brr.
Singing/Music Reading Class:
I started taking singing class! And reading music class. Singing class is really fun, and when I first got there I was expecting the teacher to be all, "You think you have a good voice? Your voice is no different than anyone elses." And then she'd whip me into shape and it would all be some sort of dramatic yet inspriational movie. No dice. In a good way, though; because the first time I sang in the class, everyone clapped and the teacher said my voice was "Beautiful, clear, and crystalline". Apparently I'm a high soprano. : O
Reading music class, however, was a different story. The first time i got homework, (the dreaded word) I pored over it for what seemed like hours and got through two pages. In the next class, the teacher said, "Okay, you all did your homework? Good, now over the week read to page 38."
I was seriously behind, seriously stressed out, and seriously not learning anything. So I decided I just didn't want to take the class anymore. Mom said it was okay, but there was one more problem left; what to tell the teacher. To be honest, I spent the entire time between classes thinking up excuses that would get me out of the class without any hard feelings. on either of our parts. But, in the next singing class, when the teacher asked why I hadn't shown up for reading music class, I just stood up and told the truth. And nobody bit my head off, and nobody made fun of me. She said it was perfectly okay, and I didn't have to apologize for anything, because reading music is a really hard subject. So now I'm just taking singing class.
4H:
I am also now in two 4H clubs; sewing, and horticulture.
They actually start the horticulture club right in the middle of a fundraiser, which is kind of stupid in my opinion, but there's probably some weird reason for it that I don't know. So now I'm selling bulbs.
Sailing:
Not much to say about sailing, except this: SAILING SEASON IS OVER! It ends in October. It is so tragical. *sniff*
Sims 3:
Remember that game I keep ranting about? Well, a lot new has happened with it. I'm not sure what to tell you about first, so I'll just go with chronological order.
First of all; Hope is gone. You know Hope, that wonderful tortured-artisty sim I kept raving about? She grew up, got married, moved out, had kids, and was claimed by a COMPUTER ERROR. It wouldn't let me save the game. As it turns out, there wasn't enough memory. We got more, but now I'm kind of afraid to play her, like playing any more will trigger some new glitch and my heart will be broken all over again. I don't have the heart to delete her though, so she just sort of sits in the dashboard, Proudly holding her newest baby, her two toddlers on the floor in front of her and her husband's hand on her shoulder. No longer a functioning sim; just a portrait of nostalgia. Forgive me if I seem a little dramatic, but Hope was a REALLY AWESOME SIM.
Second of all; I got the new expansion pack; Sims 3 SUPERNATURAL. In it are werewolves, witches, fairies, zombies, fortune-tellers, mushrooms, alchemy, and all these other wonderful things! That's really what got me playing again. But my sim right now has little to do with the supernatural. In fact, she has more to do with the physical realm than any of my other sims ever have. That's because;
Last of all: She's Me. My new sim is as close an approximation of me as I could muster. (Okay. my hand is no longer stiff, but now my wrist is sore. Ow.) She looks almost exactly like me, she wears things that i would wear in real life, (Her pajamas? Dead ringers.) and she doesn't wear shoes. I know, right?
Her stats:
Name: Bridget Coulter
Age: Young Adult
Traits: Couch potato, Excitable, Eco-friendly, Bookworm, Absent minded.
Favorite food: Grilled salmon.
Favorite music: Classical.
Favorite color: Red.
Lifetime wish: Seasoned traveler (Have max visa for all three travel destinations.)
Astrological sign: Libra. (I don't know what this one is about, but I filled it in anyway.)
She has a career in journalism, and right now she has a level 2 visa for two out of three of the travel destinations. Right now she pretty much lives in a hovel, but she's saving up for her dream house, because (surprise, surprise!) she's planning for a family. I already know my daughter's name and traits. I'm not revealing them though. Okay, I am: (SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!)
Name: Terra Coulter.
Traits: Good, Loves the outdoors, Adventurous, Eco friendly, and one last undetermined trait.
Her father will be Yves Bernard, (soon to be Yves Coulter!) Bridget's boyfriend in France. (I know, right? What is up with my sims and French dudes? At least this one is actually single.)
Though he's from France, I actually met Yves in Egypt, where he was going as an explorer, pith helmet and everything. Since then they talked on the phone every day until she finally visited France, and they became boyfriend and girlfriend right then and there. I'm planning on moving into a nicer house, then inviting him over for a while. I'll ask him to move in with me, (Her. Her, not me.) And then they'll get engaged, and have their wedding in France! Only this time I'll actually have a wedding party, since by then I'll have a vacation home, and I (She. SHE!) already has plenty of friends in France.
I'm having trouble finding a house, though. Same problem with Clarissa: It has to be big enough to raise a family, but not so big that maneuvering gets confusing. I also want to have enough room to build a nectar-cellar/gallery, where I'll store my nectar, and a gallery of my relics. And a big yard, to fit a clothesline.
I might build my own house, but with me that's akin to rolling dice and hoping for the best. I'm good at interior design, but architecture? Not so much.
Another problem is that I really want a home that makes me feel the same way I did in Hope's house. It's hard to explain, but whether I was watching Clarissa cook breakfast, or having Hope take pictures of Gerard and Tad on the seesaw, the whole house just felt... right. I'm being vague, I know.
Soooo.... there you go. That's as much as I care to write about at the moment, soo...
Ciao!

RECAP!!!!!
Hey, there! The lazy blogger right here has not updated said blog in about four or five months. That's almost two entire seasons! unforgivable, says I. So. How about a recap?
The Enviroment:
Sometime the month before last, (or maybe the month before that) I convinced my mom to start line-drying our clothes again, in exchange for my pledge to help out with hanging said clothes. I've been pretty good about it so far. I've also been reminding everyone to bring canvas bags to the store, (helpful me) and trying my hardest to turn off lights which are not needed. Which, for me, doesn't mean turning off a light when I leave the room. It means turning off lights that I don't need for illumination. Natural light works just fine, people. We've become so accustomed to the idea of electric lights illuminating our every step that we've gotten this idea that we'll be blind as bats as soon as we switch off the lights. Also, that's not a legitimate phrase. Bats are not, in fact, blind, and even in the dark they "see" perfectly due to echolocation. Just making that clear. Well, anyway, in short I've been trying to be more enviromentally conscious. Or at least reminding everyone else to be more enviromentally conscious. Same thing, right?
Friends:
I made two new friends. Twin sisters, who i will just call A and K on this blog.
I had complained to my mom about my lack of friends, (though I only did that after she nagged me about my social life) and so she sent out an e-mail to all her homeschooler internet-buddies with a list of my interests. I soon found myself E-mailing A and K, and we hit it off before we even met.
To tell the truth, I had been a little nervous about E-mailing someone I'd never met before. I've never really liked communicating electronically. But we all liked each other, and we soon found ourselves meeting for the first time at Nomagehan park. The first thing i noticed about A and K was that we had almost absolutely everything in common. K plays the harp, (an instrument i love, though it would be hopeless for me to learn.) and likes to sing. A is hilarious, and, apparently, likes to make up random sentences. You've heard of marshmallow socks, right? (that's mine.) Well; PURPLE CABBAGE. Nuff said.
The second time we met up was at the beach. (they live right next to the shore.) It was a new one, not sandy hook like we usually go to. We had a lot of fun in the ocean, and we found a few interesting critters. I found a sea worm, A found a hermit crab, and we all found a bunch of sandcrabs and baby shellfish. (clams?)
Near the end of the day, K and I, (A joined in too, but it was mostly K and I.) started doing yoga near the beach. We had our own little routine going. Sun Salutation, Bamboo pose into Tree pose, Warrior pose into Crane pose, then (I believe this is the correct order) Peacock, Lion, and Bridge. we ended with another Sun Salutation. After that first routine, a stranger (a woman) came up and asked us if we could show her some poses. We (or at least I) were a bit confused, but we obliged and walked her through the routine. After we were done, two other girls came up. The same thing, only with them we ended up doing at least six repititions of Lion pose. I was confused, but heartened by the ability of strangers to just join in like that with something they thought would be fun. My heart sank a little bit, though, when Owen told me the reason later: A and K's mom, (he didn't tell me which one) had told him that there was this program called "Yoga on the Beach". Her theory was that the three young women had thought we were members. Who knows how they mistook us adolescents for members of this organization. It was a bit disheartening to learn that these strangers, most likely, hadn't joined us spontaneously out of a sense of community. But it was still fun.
We met at that beach once again after that, and we're scheduled to meet there again on (monday?) another occasion. I just hope the days fly by.
Max:
Lately, Max has been learning a few new tricks. He's mastered "lie down", and he's pretty good about answering to his name. He's also got "Wait" pretty much in the bag, and he's learning "shake" which he's already pretty good at. Just wanted to recap that.
So... that's my recap. One last thing: to improve my writing skills, I'd like to try writing on this blog once a day. Writers are supposed to write one short thing every day, no matter how terrible it is. So... this is the way I'd like to go about it. Let's face it, with my memory it doesn't have a good chance at happening. But I'll try. My challenge shall end on August 3rd, 2013. (If we haven't all been killed by a mayan calendar by then.) Signing off.
